Here’s this year’s last “Monster Season” post! Alas, the spooky season is coming to and end. I hope you guys read at least one supernatural book this October, or at least a scary story, or watched a horror movie.
Today I’ll be listing my favorite werewolves. If I’m being completely honest, I’m more a vampire person, but I like the occasional wolf too. Let’s go~
5. Grace Brisbane
I really enjoyed Shiver, and I thought that Grace was a great character! She’s complex; she has flaw that she must overcome, and that’s what I liked about her.
I’ll be honest though, I loved the first book, but I heard the other books were really sad. So I never finished the series, is that bad?
I just don’t want to trigger myself and fall down the rabbit hole of depression, so let me know if you’ve read the books and thought they were worth finishing!
4. Seth Clearwater
I know, I know, everyone is so over Twilight at this point. But if you thought you were going to get through this blog without me mentioning Twilight at least once, you were seriously mistaken.
Personally I preferred Seth in the books, and I don’t think he got enough screen time in the movies.
And honestly though, who doesn’t love Seth? He’s super cute, he’s really kind and sincere, what’s not to love?
3. Red Riding Hood (from Once Upon a Time)
Red is fashionable, fierce, and a really great friend to Snow White and other characters in the show.
I think she also has one of the best character arcs; she begins as a girl who is scared of her curse, of who she is. After meeting Snow White and coming to terms with who she was and accepting herself, she became a confident woman.
Plus she has a wicked red cape!
2. Hayley Marshall
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Hayley, which I can’t really put into words.
I absolutely love her most of the time, but I feel like she makes a lot of bad decisions throughout the show. The kind of decisions that make me want to pull my hair out and throw a tantrum.
She starts out as a rough and tough kid, with high walls impossible to climb over. I do admire her though, she keeps moving forward even though life has dealt her an ugly hand.
Technically Holo is a deity, not a “werewolf” per say, but I don’t care. She’s close enough to me!
She’s really smart and resourceful, but then again, age will do that to you. I really like how mischievous she is, and her adventures with Lawrence really entertain me.
I do wonder about her obsession with apples, the Shinigami Ryuk from Deathnote also loved apples. It makes me wonder if all deities like apples or if it’s just Japanese anime characters. . .
This concludes my Halloween monster articles for the year! I’m sad, this is my favourite season! I’m also convinced that I need to consume more werewolf media, it took me awhile to come up with five people that I actually liked, and one is technically a god.
Anyway, let me know your favorites in the comments~
