Hi all, I have another recap post for you. I didn’t do that much in February, so I decided to do another combined post! I haven’t done that much reading, because I’m busy with classes, but I managed to get a few reviews out! I’ve also made great progress on a book I’m working on, so I’m really happy about that! Anyway, let’s get into it!
In February, a book I was highly anticipating came out! Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones was like the best thing that happened to me this year! I was pretty happy with it, and the cover was so lit! I love the winter aesthetic. Quite a few really great books came out, and I think it was a successful season for the #diversebooks community.
Books I reviewed:
Six of Crows was also really good; I bought it way back in October, but I didn’t finish it until recently. I guess that’s what happens when new books come out. I also plan to read Crooked Kingdom when I get the chance!
Books I Bought:
I’m currently working on The Bone Witch, and I love it so far! The Vegetarian was as thought provoking as it was upsetting, so I’m not quite sure if I’ll be reviewing it or not in the future.
I did a few tags, and I also listed some reading hacks! This was the first hack post I had ever done, and I got some really great feedback! Thanks for always being so positive guys! I also started a new post type (for this blog), because I had seen a few other people do it randomly/sporadically and it looked fun. Basically you create a playlist based off any book you’ve read, and it can be as long as you like!
My first playlist was inspired from Wintersong; I had lots of fun researching songs for it! I mostly wanted to do it for my own benefit, to expand my music library, but I decided to share my findings with you guys too!

This was a pretty creative two months for me, and I had fun making content! I also hit the 50 posts mark, so yay! Finally hit a milestone, and it’s not even May yet! (may will be when my blog turns one!)
I managed to get a few more makeup and skincare reviews out! I tried one of the Pixi x Aspyn Ovard collab highlighters, and it was really nice! Although, due to the dry Alaskan winter, I’ve found myself wearing less makeup and leaning more towards skincare. So that’s what I’ve mostly been buying these days.
I put out my first skincare routine! I usually see YouTubers do this kind of post, but I decided to do it on my blog. It was a really long process, and I can’t imagine how long it would take to film and edit! I have a new appreciation for beauty YouTubers now. Speaking of which, I also posted a homage post to all my fave YouTube beauty gurus! So check them out if you’re interested!
Not much has happened to me in the last two months, I’ve most just been working and going to school. Oh, but I will be moving to the countryside in May for the summer. I currently live three hours away in the city, but I grew up in the countryside. It’ll be back to working in the garden, and helping my parents around the farm.
I actually hate the countryside, but my parents aren’t young anymore, and my dad needs help running the business. On the bright side, I’ll have a lot more time to read.
I’m watching a new Korean drama called “Father Is Strange” staring Jung So Min and Lee Joon. It’s been pretty funny, and I like it because it’s about a family and all of their shenanigans.
Also, the CW original, The Originals had it’s season debut this month! It’s my favourite American TV show, and coincidentally it’s also about family (albeit a 1000 year old Viking-Vampire-Werewolf family). So yeah, that’s been my last couple of months. Tell me a highlight of yours in the comment section down below!
