#TheReadingQuest Sign-Up Post

reading quest fixed_1

Hi all, today I’m signing up for another reading challenge brought to us by Aentee over at readatmidnight.com! This looks like a lot of fun, and CW from Read, Think, Ponder. did a great job with the graphics! I’m always in awe over her work!

The Quest runs from August 13th- September 10th!

As I’ve seriously been slacking on reading, my tbr is extremely long. So when I saw this quest, I thought it would be a perfect way to motivate myself to read while having fun! I mostly read fantasy, so I’ve decided to do the Mage route!

Like I said, I’ll be doing the Mage route! A summary of my character:

As wielders of spells and witchcraft, these players will conjure and summon their way through the First Down path on the quest. Their tomes contain magic and whispers of alternate lands.

Here is my tbr:

A Book With A One Word Title: EXO by Fonda Lee

I saw CW’s really great review, and decided I needed to add it to my tbr! So this gives me an excuse to add it to the top of my pile!

A Book That Contains Magic: Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova

I’m a mage, how can I not have a book without witches?? And even better, Labyrinth Lost is about a bruja, which I’m not very familiar with Latinx folklore, so I’m really excited to give it a read!

A Book Based on Mythology: The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khourey

Aladdin is my favourite Disney movie, and I’ve heard this retelling is way better and much more accurate compared to it. Plus Aimal from the bookshelvesandpaperbacks blog was talking about jinns on her twitter, and I became interested in South Asian lore! Thought this would be a good way to dip my toes into the water.

A Book Set in a Different World: An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I’ve actually been following Sabaa Tahir on social media for over a year, and I really love her IG Stories! However, I’ve never actually read any of her work. When this came out, I was really busy with school and work, so I didn’t have time to even look at it. I’m finally going to explore her world this month!

The First Book of a Series: The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

I was looking at everything I own but haven’t read yet, and apparently I have The Crown’s Game on Audible. So I figured I might as well include this on my tbr! I have read a few books about the fall of the Russian Empire, but nothing beyond that. So I’m excited to tackle this book!

Five books in one month is a lot for me, so I don’t know if I’ll be doing any of the blue squares on the bingo board, which are for extra points. Either way, I’ll be updating once or twice a week here on my blog~ plus I’ll probably be tweeting about it! So you can stalk me on twitter if you’d like too!

Thanks for reading, and catch you later!
